Auto Apply cannot invent a career you have not saved. The Chrome extension cannot fill Greenhouse if work history is empty. Onboarding is the step that makes both features honest: one upload, fields fill from the file, you confirm, you save, you are ready to apply.
What onboarding is for
After you sign up, you should not type every job, school, and skill from scratch. Upload your CV. Enlistar reads it and fills the required profile fields. You check the details, edit anything that looks off, and save.
That profile is the source for:
- Auto Apply on Job Openings
- Auto-fill on ATS forms via the extension
- Job-specific CVs and cover letters
- Interview prep and meeting notes tied to a role you applied for
How to do the upload well
Use a current PDF. A 2019 resume will produce a 2019 profile. If you have two documents (a master CV and a short one), upload the fuller master. You can still export a shorter, tailored PDF later for a specific job.
After the extract:
- Check your name, email, and phone. Forms copy these first.
- Walk each job: title, company, dates, and bullets. Fix gaps and overlapping dates.
- Confirm education and certifications.
- Add skills the parser missed if they are real and you want them on applications.
- Save. Do not leave the profile in a half-reviewed state and then Auto Apply.
What “confirm what was extracted” really means
Parsers misread columns, tables, and creative layouts. A missing end date can look like you still work somewhere you left. A contracted title can become a different job. This is not a reason to skip onboarding. It is the reason the product asks you to confirm instead of applying with raw extract.
When you are ready for Auto Apply
You are ready when you would be comfortable pasting this profile into a Greenhouse form yourself. Then browse Job Openings, use Auto Apply where there is a form, or install the extension for sites you already have open. If a field is still wrong after a real apply, fix the profile once. Every later apply gets the correction.
Onboarding is not a tutorial you click through. It is the data layer under Auto Apply. Spend the extra ten minutes here and you get them back on every form.
